Amanda talks to Marc about her night out. A woman walks in and explains she is Daniel's new temp. Amanda takes her to the closet on their way to Daniel's office.

Betty meets with Daniel, who is excited to be back at work. He tells her that they are about to miss the next pitch meeting. Betty thanks him for his help, but says she doesn't want everyone to think he is playing favorites. He says he understands how she feels and agrees to keep his distance. The staff all watch as he gives her a big hug. During the meeting, Wilhelmina shoots down everyone's ideas. Matt says he's sure Betty has a great idea. Betty starts to tell Wilhelmina about Olivia's jewelry, but Wilhelmina says it's not good enough. She asks Betty for something bigger. Betty riffles through her notes for another idea. She suggests they use the UN's promotion of bed netting to prevent malaria and incorporate the netting in a fashion spread. Wilhelmina unenthusiastically agrees to the idea.

A man named Oscar meets with Wilhelmina and says he is investigating the disappearance of Nico's boyfriend Jonathan. He asks if he can talk to Nico, but Wilhelmina says Nico hasn't seen Jonathan in a long time. Oscar tells her he will be by tomorrow to talk.

Hilda says hello to Justin, but he ignores her. He yells at her for telling Marc not to talk to him. Hilda asks why she had to hear from someone else about what was going on with him. Justin stomps off and she begs him to talk to her. He tells her she doesn't understand him at all.

Meagan takes things off Betty's desk while Betty is on the phone with the UN. Betty goes to Matt's office and tells him the UN shoot has to happen tomorrow. She says she is able to secure models and a designer, but she needs his help. Matt assembles the staff and tells them Betty wants them to drop everything they are doing to help her. Betty then gets a call from security who tells her Daniel is losing it. Meanwhile, Daniel is in the streets ripping posters off of a bus stop.

Daniel tells Betty he was upset by seeing a poster of Tahiti, which reminded him of the honeymoon he and Molly were supposed to stay. Daniel apologizes and Betty asks what she can do to help. He tells her to go back to work, but Betty doesn't want to leave him alone. He gets upset and stops himself before he throws a plant. He says he hasn't been sleeping and is on edge. He says he's not used to being alone. Betty calls Matt and tells him she is going to be a little late because she needs to help Daniel. Matt is annoyed and Betty asks him to take over the spread. Betty tells Daniel she can stay with him for the evening.

Amanda bonds with the new temp who tells Amanda she used to have her job. Amanda asks why she gave it up. She says that one day it was decided that people didn't want her face to be the first face the company saw. She says it's all good and she's sure someone will marry her someday.

Ignacio asks Hilda what is going on with Justin. Hilda says she doesn't know and shows him that she created a fake profile on a social networking site to try to get Justin to open up to her. Ignacio reminds her that she ignored him too when she was a teenager and it's just part of being a parent.

Nico freaks out when she finds out she has to talk to a detective. She remembers telling Wilhelmina that Jonathan and her got in a fight and when he hit her, she fought back and beat him to death. She remembers throwing Jonathan off the boat. Wilhelmina tells Nico not to worry about reliving that night because they will invent a new one.

Betty wakes up on the couch next to Daniel and realizes she slept through the night. She runs off to get to the UN shoot. She apologizes to Matt and he tells her the designer is upset. Meagan tells Betty that she should have been around to make sure her project went well. Betty tries to calm down the fighting models. Betty manages to find an interpreter and learns the models are fighting because they are from warring countries.

Oscar meets with Nico and Wilhelmina. Nico explains that they were both upset the night Jonathan disappeared. She says she was upset about breaking up with Jonathan and Wilhelmina was upset about losing her child. The two then lie about how they hung out together all night and watched rom-coms when the truth is they were cleaning up blood off the boat. Nico slips that she was sea sick and Wilhelmina covers by saying they took a water taxi.

Amanda tells Marc that she is worried about her future and what's going to happen when her looks fade. She says she wants more out her life than being a receptionist. Hilda then finds Marc and asks him to talk to her about Justin. She asks him to help her figure out how to get Justin to talk to her. Marc tells her that there are some areas where it is easier for Justin to relate to him than to his mom. Hilda asks Marc to continue to help Justin if he comes to him again. Marc agrees to be there for Justin.

Betty asks Matt why there is a happy mosquito in the background. Matt tells her that she should have been there to discuss the shoot. He asks why she was with Daniel all night and implies they were sleeping together. Daniel punches Matt and knocks him to the floor. Betty watches as cameras snap photos of the disaster. Betty screams for people to listen to her, but she is drowned out by all the fighting. Wilhelmina manages to get everyone to calm down. She kicks both Betty and Daniel out of the shoot and says she is taking over. Daniel tells Wilhelmina that he won't let her throw Betty out of her own shoot. He tells everyone that he is on Betty's side. Betty asks Daniel to leave with her. Betty apologizes to Wilhelmina, then leaves.

Hilda finds Justin watching Wipeout and asks if she can join him. She asks him about school and he says it's fine. Hilda then tells him that if he needs someone to talk to, he can go to Marc. She apologizes for sticking her nose in his business. She tells him that she will always be there for him.

Betty tells Daniel he shouldn't have punched Matt. Daniel asks why she is smiling and Betty admits that Matt was being a jerk. Daniel says he knows he messed up. Betty tells Daniel she is worried about his anger issues. He says he is angry he couldn't help Molly and he thought he could at least try to help Betty. Daniel tells her that she may have made a mistake by helping him instead of doing her job. He says they aren't boss and assistant anymore and are now friends.

Hilda asks Betty if she wants her to cut her bangs. Betty decides she wants to try something different. She parts her hair to the side, gets new glasses and puts on the suit Christina made for her. She arrives at work in a good mood. The temp takes off and Amanda gives her the earpiece as a keepsake.

Betty apologizes to Matt for the shoot and for Daniel hitting him. She tells him that she regrets what happened between them, but she has to move on now. She tells him not to worry about Daniel anymore because she is going to fight her own battles.

Wilhelmina tells Nico that Oscar bought their story. She tells Nico never to let her guard down because that's how they get in trouble. Meanwhile, a spot of blood remains on their boat.

Daniel asks Betty if she wants a ride home, but Betty says she now has her own towncar. The two take off in their separate cars and Betty smiles.
