Glenn tries to get Nancy's attention, but she ignores him while reading a letter. Meanwhile, a group of players play softball. The pitcher upsets the crowd by taunting the opposing team. He pitches a ball that is knocked back into his face. Nancy and Glenn get the call and head towards the scene. Glenn asks Nancy what is going on, but she doesn't tell him. He wonders if she is preoccupied by a boyfriend. The ambulance is hit in the side by a speeding bus causing it to flip over and knock out Nancy and Glenn.

The show jumps two hours earlier. Glenn tells Nancy it is their golden anniversary since this is their fiftieth shift working together. Rabbit arrives and says he got courtside basketball tickets from a patient. Rabbit hands Nancy a ticket and tells her he will pick her up at six.

While Tyler and Cameron go out on patrol, they get a call about a drunk man in the middle of the street. They go to the scene and introduce themselves to the man Ben who appears to be conducting an imaginary orchestra. They convince him to jump in the back of the ambulance where they take him. Ben repeatedly hits Cameron with a pillow. Cameron tells Tyler to pull over so they can switch positions. In the back Tyler and Ben sing a show tune.

Glenn tells Nancy it is like they have a long relationship since he is probably the man she spends the most time with. Glenn goes to back to grab sheets and finds Diana eating hospital food. Glenn sits down with her and they share their experiences of being new to the team.

Joe tells Nancy he has something for her and gives her a letter of recommendation so she can apply for a residency at Sutter. He tells her since she has a degree and the talent, she should take the opportunity to become a doctor.
