Miranda calls in Jimmy to meet with Val. Val says she doesn't think her husband is coming. Jimmy asks Miranda about the surgery. Miranda explains he will be in the hospital from five to seven days and will be out of work for a month. Val says Megan is an honor roll student and a gymnast. Jimmy says he has a new family and can't put them through the stress.

Miranda informs Steve that they found Jimmy and he is a match for his daughter. She says that Jimmy doesn't want to donate part of his liver and they have to wait for a donor match.

Andy tells Dylan's mom that her son is regaining consciousness. Andy introduces himself to Dylan and explains he is going to cough after they remove his breathing tube. Lisa arrives while Andy removes the breathing equipment. He asks Lisa where his prize is from the carnival.

Steve introduces himself to Jimmy who is in the waiting room. Jimmy explains he couldn't leave since he has a daughter like him. Steve says he considers Megan his daughter and Jimmy is the only person who can help her. Later, Megan is brought to the operating room. Jimmy says goodbye to his family just before he is wheeled in for the procedure. After the operation, Val thanks Sophia for her help. She says she wanted to keep the secret because she didn't want to hurt her family. She says sunlight is the best disinfectant.

Sophia meets with Miranda and admits she wasn't entirely truthful about her relationship with her father. She confesses they were both in love with each other. Miranda says her dad spent a lot less time with her at home. Sophia tells Miranda the situation was complicated.

Andy shows Kuol the VAD he is going to implant in him. David says he had to jump through some hoops to get the VAD for Kuol. Lisa meets with Andy in the balcony and explains when she saw Dylan's shoes at the accident scene it reminded her of her little sister who died when she was twelve. She says her sister followed her with her bike and was hit by a car. She says she remembered her legs were mangled like Dylan's. Andy gives Lisa a hug to comfort her. Lisa thanks Andy for listening then leaves. David arrives at the balcony and announces that Kuol is ready for surgery.
