Alicia watches Peter as he is being interviewed by a reporter. He says he needs to win his appeal and get back home to his family. Peter admits his flaws pushed him to seek prostitutes and vows to change himself. While the crew packs up, Peter introduces Alicia to Kya Poole, his reputation manager. Kya asks Alicia to say hello to Will for her.

The lawyers watch a video of Professor Ellen Whitton, who is a cloning and genetics researcher. She admits missing deadlines in her work. She denies setting the fire in her lab that destroyed her work. She says she was running on the track when the accident happened. Since Whitton seems nervous, Will suggests they don't put her on the stand. Will, Tamara and Diane decide to assign Alicia and Cary as the witness preparers.

The lawyers speak to Keith Thomas an arson expert. He says the police rushed to judgment in their investigation. He explains they thought the accelerant was lighter fluid, but in reality it was butane which is common in labs. He says butane can spontaneously ignite, which Cary doubts. Cary grills Keith with tough questions.

After watching the video of Keith, Will tells Diane that they can't sell the events as an accident. The team tells Ellen that they don't want to put her on the stand as part of their best strategy to win her acquittal.

Kalinda informs the team that Ellen's lab received death threats. Kalinda tells Alicia there Plan B is to blame the fire on religious fanatics.

Before his appeal hearing starts, Peter greets the prosecuting attorney Landry. When Alicia arrives, she notices that Kya on one of the benches. Judge Harvey Winter warmly greets Peter. Daniel, Peter's lawyer, asks to have Peter released with an electronic monitor, but Landry vehemently objects. Winter says the bail hearing will be held the next day.

Grace tells Alicia she read that her dad might get out. She explains she receives Google alerts about her dad. She wonders where Peter is going to stay and is surprised after Zach suggests he stay in Alicia's bedroom. Zach explains Peter is going to be stuck in the apartment because of his electronic monitor.
