Candace and Alex go to Michael's house and bring him his dog. He says it makes sense his dog was at the woods since he stayed there several times. Alex informs him about the body his dog led the students to. Michael says he doesn't want his dog since he is going through a divorce.

Candace takes the dog, Katie, to Alex's house. Walter tells them about the lead he got on the comic book convention. Alex asks the team to check the list of volunteers against a list of people who stayed at the lake. Lindsey finds a man named Jake Lucas is on both lists.

Tyler uses the skull to recreate the face of the victim. Candace and Alex go to Jake's apartment with the picture Tyler made. The landlord says he recognizes Jake. He informs them Jake bought a dog, which was not allowed then was kicked him out of his apartment.

Later, Alex, Grace and Candace go to the house of Jake's brother, John Lucas. Grace informs him that Jake was found dead near the lake. John says that is not possible since he got an email from Jake who said he is in India.

The team gives John the picture that Tyler created. Jake's sister Becky arrives. Grace says she can check to see who sent the emails. John informs them that Jake has been sending him emails from various parts of the world. Becky says Jake is flaky. John states Jake was adopted. Grace says she will check Jake's DNA against one of his personal items.

Candace learns Jake was a famous programmer who created a social program called the 'Katie Application.' Tyler explains the program uses cellphone equipment and data to let other people in a private network know what they are doing. Candace reports Jake worked on the technology with three other people and sold it for a fortune. Alex recognizes one of the people, Michael. Candace suggests they don't wait for the police and find out what happened themselves.
