Tyler recreates a sketch of what he thinks the man, who they are calling Football John, looks like. Alex goes to the stadium and asks a representative of the football team if they recognize the man. The man says that there were thousands of players that went through their organization. Lindsay says that she couldn't find Football John's medical records. Walter visits a chiropractor who says that the player seems like he was a linemen. He analyzes the injuries and determines that he was hit one side over and over again. Walter figures that the player was a center.

Back at headquarters, Lindsay says that the teams don't keep pictures of all the players. The bartender from Nate's calls Alex and tells him that the person who argued with Football John is there. Alex and Walter drive there and meet the man. He tells Alex that he doesn't know who Football John is. He says that Football John argued with him about the treatment of injured players. He says that he couldn't have killed Football John because he is at the bar participating in trivia night. Alex asks the group of trivia players if they recognize Football John. He offers money for anyone who can help them. One man says that Football John wore a Cincinnati cap. They check out the photos hanging on the walls and recognize him. Walter finds that the man is named Tom Bryant. Alex announces that they have a winner and gives the money to Walter who in turn uses the money to buy everyone a round of drinks.

Grace says that they know where Tom Bryant used to live. Walter says that he googled Tom. He says that he played for various teams and ended his career in 1999 when he hurt his neck. Alex tells Walter to pack his bags to go with him to Cincinnati. He says that Tom didn't have family but he tried to open a barbecue restaurant with a man named Wayne Wilmers. Walter asks what they are going to do about Tom's memorial. The coach informs him that they only do that for star players.
