At Luthorcorp, Clark tells Oliver that Lois is missing. He explains she left the hospital without being released or any one noticing her.

In Tess's lab, Lois is dragged in by two black uniformed men. With mind sensors attached to her temples, she lays strapped on a table. Tess tells Stewart there is a mystery in Lois and she needs to solve it. Stewart brings up one of Lois's visions of Zod's Solar Tower even though the construction of it hasn't started.

Lois remembers being at the Daily Planet in the future with the Legion's ring on her finger. She exits through the rotating doors in the lobby and sees an empty and desolate city with a huge red son above her. A Kandorian flies down and asks why she isn't in uniform. The man sees she is a human and doesn't belong there. Lois says she is a reporter asking questions. Lois runs off, but he quickly gets in front of her. She warns him the Red Blue blur will save her, but he says he can't under a red sun. He informs her the Blur is dead. She looks up and sees the tattered rags of the Blur's uniform hanging on a light pole.

Back in the lab, Stewart is hesitant to link up Tess and Lois's brains. Tess explains it is the only way to learn Lois's secret.

Lois remembers waking up next to other imprisoned humans. She sees a Kandorian woman bring a man outside and burn Zod's symbol in his back. After the woman gets angry at Lois's request for food, Clark gives the woman jewelry in exchange for Lois's safety. Clark tells her she is not imagining things. Clark explains Earth has been invaded by an alien army led by Zod. He informs her she vanished a year ago. She says she last remembers when she grabbed a gold ring Clark recognized as belonging to the Legion. The Kandorian who took Lois earlier returns and takes Lois out of the room.

Clark asks Chloe where Lois is. Chloe says the last she knew, Lois was in the hospital. After Clark accuses Chloe of taking her, Clark figures Tess did instead. Chloe figures Tess wants to know what Lois saw in the future. Chloe says Lois is suffering from PTSD from what she saw.

Stewart notices that Lois and Tess are going through high levels of stress. Lois remembers meeting Zod at the mansion. He offers her food as an exchange for saying who is working with her. Lois refuses to talk. As he digs in her pocket and finds the Legion ring, Zod says her resistance will never take down his tower. Tess and Lois are both surprised to see each other there. After she is slapped, Tess explains she is the planet's savior. Zod says he hoped Clark was going to join him to bridge the gap between them and the humans. Tess says she believes Clark will never come around. Zod figures since Lois and Clark are of no use to him, he should have them executed.

Zod holds a small ceremony to declare Tess as one of his soldiers. They enter a room where Clark begs Zod to let Lois go. A Kandorian holds Clark down as Zod unsheathes his sword. Before he can strike, a force repels through the skylights, shooting kryptonite arrows to save Clark and Lois. After Oliver reveals himself, he explains the team is led by Chloe. Oliver sees that Tess was shot in the abdomen during the raid. Before she dies, she explains she thought she was doing what had to be done to save the Earth. Chloe justifies having to take the shot that killed Tess.
