Lois tells Oliver that she and Clark have become the new anchors for the morning show. She tells him about her first assignment. She says she wants to do better than Clark since he did great during his date. Lois asks Oliver to help her by telling her what he likes and dislikes about her. Before Oliver can start, Mia steps out of the shower and asks if she can be paid with smaller bills. Oliver explains he paid Mia to spar with him, but Lois doesn't believe him.

In Oliver's apartment, Oliver asks Mia for his watch she stole as she gets dressed. Mia says after she pays off Rick, she is done. Oliver insists he doesn't want to sleep with her. Oliver says he wants to pay her debts, but she says she doesn't want to owe him. Oliver says he wants to give her a life she can be proud of. He explains he knows how it feels to be stuck feeling like there is no escape. Mia says if she stays, he has to pay her. Oliver says it has already been arranged and gives her a bag of clothes. He instructs her to drop him off for an appointment.

Lois arrives at a restaurant to go on her blind date. Clark, who is in the studio, says she looks great. Lois notices her blind date is Oliver. He admits he paid off her real date. Meanwhile, Mia meets with Rick and offers him Oliver's car in exchange for them being even. Rick orders her to take him to where Oliver is so he can rob him.

Back in the restaurant as Lois sips wine, Oliver tells Lois he thought she would be a beer girl. He realizes that Lois is putting on a show for the cameras. Oliver says the only reason he came there is to finish telling her what he loves about her. He admits he loves that she is still in his life and heart. Lois gets uncomfortable, asks for the check, and starts to leave. Oliver stops her and tells her he still has strong feelings for her. He says he was in a dark place and now realizes she is the best thing in his life. Lois says she loves him as a dear friend. Oliver realizes Lois wants to be with Clark. Oliver says he is happy she knows what she wants, but is hurt it is not him. Oliver gives Lois a kiss and says goodnight.

Outside, Oliver sees Mia waiting for him in his car. Lois comes out and tells him she is not going to let him wander down dark alleys. Oliver says he is not going to take any more unnecessary chances. Lois asks if Mia is his driver now. He goes up to the car to ask Mia to open the door to meet Lois, but she apologizes. Rick sneaks up behind Oliver, knocks him out with his gun, then tells Lois not to move. Meanwhile, the television producer shows Clark the new marketing ad which is a cut out of Lois pulling at Clark's tie.

Out in the alley, Lois fights off Rick, but the men grab her. Rick is about to shoot Lois, but Mia kicks him and takes his gun. Rick tells her she doesn't have what it takes to shoot him, then punches her out. Oliver wakes up, beats up the men, then tries to run with Lois. Rick recovers and shoots at Lois and Oliver as they climb a ladder to the rooftop. Using his superhearing, Clark realizes Oliver and Lois are in trouble. As Rick corners them and shoots, Clark appears, moves in the way of the bullet, and uses his heat ray vision to explode the bullets in front of Rick. A bullet gets by him, but he is able to catch it midair just before it hits Oliver.

Meanwhile, Tess is cornered by her bodyguard who is working for Zod. He shows her his dogtag with the Kandorian symbol and demands to be told where the Blur is or she will die.

Clark finds Chloe trying to hack into Tess's computer. She finally gains access to the system and sees a video of Stuart. He tells her to give up since she can't break through. Chloe looks up the man and learns he is a man named Stuart Campbell. She suggests they recruit Stuart to join their team. Clark says he isn't sure if he should pursue Lois. Chloe tells him he should do what he wants.

While having tea, Zod receives an envelope. He opens it and finds the bloody dogtag of Tess's bodyguard. He sees Tess across the street, but she suddenly disappears.

Chloe meets with Stuart in the alleyway. She gives him a file showing she knows all about him. They shake hands and decide to work together. Meanwhile, Oliver pulls up to Mia and asks her to get in his car.

Back at the Daily Planet, Lois informs Clark that the TV station went with another morning lineup. Lois apologizes for dragging him to the station. Clark grabs Lois and gives her a kiss.
