Lois visits a victim at the hospital. Clark arrives, listens to her thoughts and realizes the victim is worried she might be deported. Clark tells her to trust him. She says she saw a man. They talk to another man who Clark reads is lying just to get attention. He admits he didn't see anything.

Later, Lois brings Clark a bag of donuts, but takes a bite out of one before she hands it over. Clark hears Lois think she thinks she is going to be lonely for the rest of her life, then asks her to go out. After hearing her desire to go to the monster truck rally, he suggests they go see it.

Later in Mexico, Oliver stumbles into a bar. He orders drinks as two women surround him. Several men confront him about messing with his wife. Oliver downs his drink, then asks him which one is his wife, the short one or the ugly one. One of the men punches Oliver. Tess appears and shoots her glock into the air which clears the bar.

Chloe returns to the apartment and finds Lois cutting up a pair of jeans for a monster truck rally. Lois says she is going to a monster truck rally with Clark. She says she feels like she is on the same wavelength as him lately. Chloe figures Clark is using his new ability to get close to Lois.

At the hospital, Clark hears the thoughts of the man who was strapped to the bomb. He thinks about how he was forced in his situation by a toy maker. Clark figures the man responsible was Winslow Schott, the Toyman.

Back in Mexico, Tess informs Oliver that one of his factories was blown up. She tells him his company is failing. Oliver says she will get what she wants, which is to become the CEO of Luthorcorp. Tess asks him why he is punishing himself. She asks him to talk to the company's shareholders, then he can start drinking again.
