In a blue room, a man lays out photos of several people. He places an X on the faces of Dodd and Sylvester then stares at a photo of a woman.

At the Daily Planet, Clark and Chloe find a film of Sylvester. They see that he was accused of embezzling from his company. They learn that Dodd was arrested during a student demonstration. They see that a physics professor named Al Pratt was arrested during the same demonstration. They watch as the film shows other arrests of other people who seem like they don't have any connection. Clark figures that since the crew stood up for one another, they helped each other avoid jail time. Chloe says that Sylvester contacted a man named Carter Hall. They wonder what connected all of the people.

Clark goes to a closed down museum and learns that Hall is there. Clark tells him that Sylvester and Dodd were killed. Clark notices a man named Nelson who is mumbling to himself about Doctor Fate in the corner. Using X-Ray Clark sees that the mumbling man is carrying a helmet inside of a bag. After Clark leaves, Nelson tells Hall that the helmet has something to say.

Oliver finds Courtney walking around with the lance that Sylvester had. He tells her that Sylvester and another man was murdered. Nelson appears, uses the lance to blind Oliver, then disappears with Courtney.

Oliver tells Chloe that he wonders who would kidnap Courtney. They discover a car that Chloe suspects is where Sylvester lived in. Oliver sees that Sylvester named the car Star Rocket Racer. He finds a notebook that shows that Sylvester knew about all their identities.

Courtney tells Hall she thinks she knows who is killing them. Hall tells Courtney that Doctor can't fight. Courtney says she can't believe Sylvester and Dodd who were known as Star Spangled Kid and the Sandman are dead.

Chloe tells Clark that both Sylvester and Dodd were killed by an ice weapon. She says she suspects a man Joar Mahkent known as the Icicle is responsible.

Meanwhile, Hall tells Nelson they are going to need his alter ego. Nelson says he wishes he remember his family life was before he became Dr. Fate. Nelson says he scared his friends away, but Hall tells him that he didn't scare all of him. Nelson puts on his helmet which transforms him to Dr. Fate. Hall opens up a cabinet that contains his Hawkman gear. As he gets ready, he tells Courtney and Dr. Fate that it is time to get hunting.

Oliver says Joar Mahkent has been in a coma for years. Clark discover Dr. Fate at the hospital. After Clark asks him who he is, Fate takes Clark and disappears. Later, Oliver tells Chloe he is following Courtney. He wonders if Courtney is using herself as bait while wearing a patriotic uniform. He asks her what he is doing. After the Icicle arrives, Courtney tells him he is Star Girl. Courtney and Icicle fight after he creates an ice lance. After Icicle disarms Courtney, he launches several icicles at her, but Oliver blocks them. She tells him that he ruined her chance to get back at Sylvester's killer. Hawkman swoops down, grabs Oliver and throws him through Chloe's window. Hawkman tells them to stay out of their business.
