Pete treats a depressed patient named Barbara. Violet informs Sam that she is surprised her patients like when she tells them the truth. Addison arrives and asks the doctors if they want a cat. Violet suggests Addison keep it because it will help her with her commitment issues.

Addison admits to Sam she doesn't like having pets. Naomi arrives and tells Sam and Addison that she is escaping her new geneticist who is rude and arrogant. She tells them about his plan to treat the Donovans. Naomi explains genetic selection is a line she doesn't want to cross.

Cooper tries to put his arm around Charlotte, but she pushes it off. She says even though she has been there for several weeks, she has no patients.

Jimmy, Barbara's boyfriend, tells Pete that she wants Barbara to get better. Barbara says she is tired of talking and announces she is going to try electric shock therapy. Later, Violet tells Pete she thinks ECT can work on Barbara since they tried everything else and nothing is working.

Addison meets with Lily's Neoncologist, Doctor Reynolds. He tells Addison that he thinks it is time to let go of Lilly. Lilly informs Addison that once she agreed to take on Milo, she thinks it is time.
