Cooper brings Trevor to meet her sisters Kelli and Niki who have leukemia. Addison asks to talk to Cooper and tells him that although the cord blood is a match, there is only enough blood to save one of them. After they tell the parents the news, Renee says she can't choose which one will get the blood. She suggests she have another baby, but Addison says her daughters don't have enough time. Renee admits it would be easier if both of her daughters died.

Sam tells Maya that he and Naomi will take care of her, but Maya insists that Dink will provide for her. She asks him to sign a form to allow her to marry, but Sam refuses. Sam tells Addison about his daughter. Addison says it seems like Trevor's parents blame him for not having enough blood. She assures Sam that Naomi will come around to accepting his daughter's situation.

Violet and Sheldon conduct a session with Naomi and Sam. Sam tells Naomi about Maya's options, but Naomi doesn't want to hear it. Sam tells Naomi that she has to deal with Maya having a baby, but Naomi storms out of the room.

Jared tells Cooper that he knows they are going through an impossible choice. admits that if he was forced, he knows he has a favorite. He wonders what kind of person he is. He tells Renee that although he loves Niki, he can't watch them both die. Renee says either they both live or die and tells her husband he is going to hell.

Dink's mom Corinne meets with Sam. She asks if Naomi is going to join them, but Sam says she is tied up. Corinne says she is a single parent. Corrine. suggests Maya and Dink stay at her guest house. She tries to figure out a schedule, but Sam realizes that it is tight. Sam tells Corrine that since Maya is a little girl, she needs a high school education. He says he is worried that a child will take most of her attention. Corrine says if they don't sign the papers, Maya and Dink might run away.

Niki becomes septic and starts to crash. Cooper tells Renee that she relapsed. Renee tells Jared that this is his fault.

At the bar, the doctors tell each other their problems. Pete sees a woman across the bar, but gets a page, then leaves.

Violet looks for a book that she figures that Charlotte put away. Charlotte returns home and sees that Violet is in a slanket. Charlotte wonders if Violet only wants her there because she makes great martinis.

Sam asks Addison to drive Naomi to work since he left his car at a bar. He admits that he is drunk. She asks him about Maya, but he doesn't know what to do. He says he is pi*** and sad. He tells her about a gymnastics competition when she broke her toe, but continued to perform. Sam gives Addison a kiss, but she says it is a bad idea.
