Gibbs goes to the morgue and is told the men were shot multiple times by a large caliber weapon. Ducky suspects that Mike crossed the line from being a cowboy to an outlaw. He says the bodies were dragged into the boat. Ducky figures the discovery of the boat was intentional.

Gibbs asks Abby if the firefight happened on the boat. She says she found bullets that indicate the victims were executed. She also finds another bullet from a smaller caliber gun in the side. Gibbs figures the firefight started before the boat was in the water. Gibbs tells Abby to take the boat apart to find out what happened.

Tony tells Ziva that the American dream means that any idiot can become a success. Tony tells Gibbs he doesn't think the victims knew Franks at all. Later, Gibbs hears people in his house. He discovers that Amira and Leyla are there. Leyla says Mike is right behind her. Mike asks Gibbs if he is going to help him or shoot him. Gibbs asks Mike why the two men were after him. Mike says he hoped he would tell him why. Mike explains he learned from a bartender that the men were looking for him. He says he never saw the men in his whole life. He apologizes for using the boat, but says he wanted to be investigated by him. Gibbs asks him to give up being tough. Mike assures him he would never put his daughter and granddaughter in jeopardy. Gibbs tells him to leave the investigation to them.
