A man blogs about the NCIS using his laptop in his car. He checks his watch, gets out of his car and watches construction workers talking below him. The workers are surprised as the man drops from above and is impaled on a rebar.

McGee makes an appointment to have another polygraph test. Tony asks McGee if he made a mistake of coming out. Tony asks Gibbs if he ever failed a polygraph test. He tells the team that they need to investigate the death of a blogger named Matt Burns. Ducky asks Gibbs to talk, but says that he can wait. Ducky learns that Ziva can not go out in the field until she receives proper clearance. Ducky tells her she knows where to find him if she wants to talk.

The team arrives at the scene. Tony flirts with a detective who is wearing a scarf while looking at a car. The detective introduces herself as Hanly. Hanly says that they found a shoe print that doesn't match the victim near the area where he fell. Gibbs meets with the detective in charge, Sportelli. Hanly says that the victim wrote a blog. Sportelli says that Matt wrote how the NCIS coveredup a case. Sportelli says that he is there to make sure that NCIS doesn't cover up Matt's death.

Back at headquarters, the team watches a web video of Matt talking about Lt. Ron Arnet who was killed in a car crash that was ruled as an accident by the NCIS. Matt says he thinks that Arnet was linked to insider trading. They took a look at Matt's blog where he writes that he was going to meet someone who will blow the Arnet case wide open. They see that Matt's work discredited a judge.
