Hanna meets with Brandon's CO named Pallet. He tells him that Brandon and Alex were not very bright. He says Alex is now in the sickbay. He says Alex and Brandon were good friends, but they got in a fight last week. Callen tells Hanna that he can't find Alex anywhere on the base.

Kensi figures that Brandon was looking to buy and resell his copies of Guitar Hero on ebay. They find his listings and see he was selling the games for half the price he bought them for. Dom asks Eric if he can find a pattern of the shops Brandon bought the game from. Eric discovers that the banks the shops used are listed on the Counterfeit Currency Alert. They figure the games were bought using fake bills then sold for real cash. Callen and Hanna wonder where Brandon got the fake money. Eric calls Callen and tells him Alex's car just drove off Pier 60.

Callen and Hanna arrive at the scene just as Alex's car is pulled out of the bay. Callen asks Hanna if he wants to jump in the bay since he was a SEAL, but he says the police divers can handle it. After the Secret Service learns about the counterfeit money, Agent Natalia Giordano meets with the team and is handed a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill. After she examines the bill, she says they were made by a plate. Natalie says hundreds are harder to counterfeit since they have to pass the pen test. She tests the bill and sees the paper is not the same quality. Hanna figures Brandon went to mom and pop shops because they had less security measures. Natalie says she is stationed in Las Vegas and will have to stay in town until they find the source of the fake bills. She asks Callen if he knows any good restaurants and he suggests she order room service.

Later, Hanna tells Callen it was obvious that Natalie wanted to have dinner with him. Callen explains he doesn't date law enforcement. Eric shows the team surveillance cameras which shows Alex's car was empty when it drove off the pier. Among the crowd, they see Alex walk away. Kensi reports they got a signal from Alex's phone showing he was traveling north. Eric sees that Alex checked his voice mail using a pay phone. They realize he was heading towards the building where Brandon jumped. They go to the rooftop and find Brandon. He tries to jump off the building, but Hanna pulls him off the railing. He checks his pocket and finds a serial number stamp.

The team brings Alex to their interrogation room. They figure that Alex was so scared that he wanted to jump off the roof. Alex says that he didn't kill Brandon since he was his best friend. Alex says he tried to warn Brandon to stop partying or he will get caught. Callen says when he was a kid, his foster brother who tried to protect him was beaten to death by their foster death. He says he still feels bad about his death. Alex admits Rick Pargo killed Brandon. Natalie informs the team that Rick has a record of counterfeiting. Nate says that Alex is terrified and wonders why he went back to the place where his friend died. He figures Nate went back to honor Brandon. Callen and Hanna meet with Alex. He admits he found money plates in Iraq. He says when he came back home, Rick found them, produced some money, but the paper wasn't good enough. Hanna figures they were supposed to destroy the bills, but instead they laundered them online. Natalie arrives and tells the team that what Alex had is a serial number generator. She explains that Saddam had money forgers in Iraq.
