Chloe visits a young patient named Jason, who has burns all over his body and face. She gives him a music magazine, but he throws it aside. Sands examines him and tells him that Chloe will take care of him. Chloe tells Sands that she thinks that Jason is angry at her. Sands says that he can understand the anger since a propane tank exploded on him.

Sonia meets with two patients, a married gay couple, who got in a fight. Sonia asks them what happened. One of them says that he came home and found his partner eating a meat meal with another man even though they are vegetarians. The other man tells his husband that he is the only one who is a vegetarian. The couple proceed to argue. Just before she leaves, Sonia tells them to hold on to each other.

Veronica asks Gerald to let her know if he starts to feel shaky or hallucinates. Gerald realizes that Veronica is trying to keep him there. The power goes out and Gerald starts to panic, but Veronica tells him that it is just a rolling black out.

Later at the bar, Veronica learns that the A/C is broken. She tells Sonia and Chloe that they should go somewhere else. They sneak into a pool to drink beers. The girls tease Sonia about her new cop boyfriend, but she insists that her relationship with him is only casual. Chloe admits that she has a crush on Doctor Sands and asks for advice. Veronica tells her to play it cool. Sonia asks Chloe to get them beers. Sonia tells Veronica to stop Chloe from pursuing Sands since he came there for her. Veronica assures her that she doesn't want anything to do with Sands. Chloe overhears Veronica ask Sonia what she thinks about kids. Chloe thinks that Veronica is pregnant, but Veronica says that she is not.
