A young woman named Mallory brings her rich elderly husband, Donny, a birthday cake. She helps him blow out his candles, then pushes his wheelchair through the hall. The man says he spoke to his doctor and learned that since his cancer is going away, he will make a fully recovery. After the man says he might reach one hundred years old, the woman pushes him down the stairway. Since Donny is not dead, the woman uses a vase to bash his head. Allison wakes up from her dream.

In the morning, the family watches news reports about Mallory's murder trial. Bridgette says she can't believe someone would marry Donny for billions of dollars. Ariel tells Allison she is going to babysit the son of a therapist named Dr. Barren.

The news shows video of Mallory vacationing in St. Bart's soon after Donny's death. Allison wonders if Joe is watching the news since the woman is voluptuous.

After Allison arrives at her office parking garage, she sees a man who has lost all of his papers. He says he is coming in for a job interview at the city planner. Allison goes up to her floor and sees the same man, but wearing different clothes.

Mallory's lawyer asks Manny to cut a deal since he thinks the jury is going to find his client innocent. He says he has a forensics expert that disputes that Donny was hit in the hit after his fall. Mallory insists she gave Donny the best fourteen and a half months of his life. Manny declines to make a deal.

Allison tells Manny that she is not sure who was slimier, the lawyer or Mallory. Allison notices the man she saw in the parking lot working on the computers and says he keeps on changing his clothes.

While she is getting ready to leave, Dr. Barren tells Ariel about her house and her son's, Jeb, eating schedule. Barren tells Ariel that since Jeb could be a handful she is going to pay her twice her normal rate. She says Jeb likes to blame his wrongdoings on his imaginary friend, Mr. Teethers who is a giant beaver. After Barren leaves, Ariel asks Jeb to play outside before it gets dark, but he ignores her. Ariel tries to talk to Mr. Teethers, but he says he is outside. Ariel looks out the window, sees a giant beaver, freaks out, grabs Jeb, but the beaver goes away.

At home, Allison asks Joe to look at the man outside who is wearing a dress while walking a dog. She explains she has seen the man several times all day. Joe looks, but doesn't see anyone. Joe wonders if Allison's eyes are tricking her.

The man Allison saw runs away from a man who looks exactly like him. The man shoots the first man with a rifle, then asks him for his money. The man on the ground tells the gunmen, Charlie, that he doesn't know where his money is. Charlie finishes off the man on the ground. Allison wakes up from her dream.

Allison tells Joe about her dream. She turns and discovers that the man from her dream is in bed with her. She starts to panic and grabs a pair of scissors from her nightstand. Her kids come in and beg her not to hurt their daddy. Allison wonders why they are protecting the man and they explain it is their dad.

The man tells Allison that his name is Joe and explains how they met. He insists he is her husband, then brushes back his hair. Allison says when she looks at him, she sees a stranger. Joe figures he should go on with the rest of his day. Allison perceives all the news people on television as the man who she saw. Allison wonders why some people look like him, while others don't. The news reports about a man who was shot by a rifle.

Allison goes to the scene and notices several people looking like the man in the garage. Lee walks up to Allison, but he looks like the man in the garage. He says the victim was Peter Musgrow. Allison says Peter called the man who shot him Charlie. A woman that looks like the garage man grieves that her husband is dead.

While babysitting, Jeb destroys Ariel's book and take home quiz. While trying to salvage her work, Mr. Teethers appears and tells her that deep down Jeb wants to be good, but he can't help himself. The beaver takes off his mask and explains he is not used to people other than Jeb seeing him. The beaver says he is the dead Ashmore mascot, the Beaver. He explains he climbed on the scoreboard, fell and broke his neck. He says since he died in the costume, he will wear it forever. He tells Ariel that he pretended to be Jeb's imaginary friend after he noticed that he can see him. The beaver tells Ariel that Jeb has issues and has superglued the last babysitters hands. He warns her that Jeb is capable of doing worse.

Allison tells Joe that she can't get into bed with a man who doesn't look like her husband. Joe figures she wants him to sleep in the living room, but she insists he stay. Allison asks him to check her email and sees that there is one that informs her that her voting district has changed. Joe suggests they have a little adult swim since the children are asleep, but she tells him not to push his luck.

The garage man negotiates the price for his service. After Allison learns that the man is going to vote to acquit Mallory in exchange for payment, she wakes up from her dream.
