At his apartment, Wilson finds House moving his hand underneath his blanket. House explains he was picking lint out of his belly button. House says he is sleeping on the couch because he doesn't want to sleep where Wilson and Amber used to sleep. He says he knows he turned the room into a study, which in reality is a shrine to his dead girlfriend. House admits he wasn't picking lint. Wilson says he needs to get used to living with him.

At the hospital, Cameron tells House about the case. House believes the patient's history of family who died from heart failure is only a coincidence. The rest of the staff think that there is something wrong with the patient and wonder if he has a genetic disease. As they walk past Donny, Chase has a flashback of Dibala, the patient he murdered, and returns to his office.

Cuddy tells House he needs to go on some rounds with a class in order to get his license back. The doctors find nothing abnormal with Donny. They figure they should look at his relative's remains. Chase admits to Foreman he was about to have a panic attack when he walked past Dibala's old room.

Later, a woman named Cheryl meets with House and states she used to date Donny. She informs House that Donny has a son he doesn't know about. He gives her a phone and his room number, then says goodnight.

At the apartment, House tosses and turns as he sleeps in Amber and Wilson's old bedroom. He gets up and goes into Wilson's room to see if he is messing with him. He returns to bed, turns off the light and continues to hear voices.

The next day, Chase reports they found no genetic abnormalities in Donny's relatives. They find a note from House that says he is going back to school since he thinks the heart attacks were a coincidence. Cameron meets with Cheryl and her son Michael. She suggests Michael meet his father because he might die.

Meanwhile, House walks with other doctors as they go through their rounds. A heart monitor starts to beep which causes the doctors to quickly tend to the patient. The teaching doctor tells House to take his finger off the test button. He announces he was warned about his pranks. House accidentally pulls the catheter bag which unleashes a stream of urine. He says sometimes the teacher can learn more from the student, then hands him his time card to sign.
