Back at the slaughter house, Claire and Gretchen split from the other girls. Claire asks Gretchen how long she knew she liked girls. Gretchen admits she had more boyfriends than girlfriends. Gretchen asks Claire if she is a virgin, then realizes she is. Gretchen says they might be strange attractors. She explains it is a physics concept where two particles become more powerful when they are together. Claire sees a figure running in the shadows, then pushes Gretchen to safety when a hook flies towards her.

Samuel shows Tracy around the carnival. He says when she uses her gift, she taps into something that is greater than herself. He explains they are all connected. He asks her to bring Jeremy there to join his family. Tracy wants to return to Noah. Samuel gives her a compass and says it will lead her back to the carnival. He introduces her to Lydia who escorts her back. After Tracy leaves, Sylar tells Samuel he recognizes Tracy.

Janice finds Matt packing up to leave. He explains someone else can control his body since he pushed Sylar's mind out of his body and is now in his head. He asks her to give him some time so he can push him out. Janice suggests he stay there while she leaves with Matty. Matt instructs her not to let him know where she is going.

Matt calls Mohinder and asks him to call him back. Sylar says Mohinder can't help him. Matt starts to drink beer and figures the alcohol is hurting Sylar. Matt asks Sylar to stop him from drinking the beer, but he can't. Matt starts to drink hard alcohol, which appears to make Sylar weaker.

Noah tells Tracy that the arrangements for Jeremy has been made. Jeremy asks Noah where he is going to live. Noah says he will live near him and nobody will know about his abilities. Tracy assures Jeremy he will be safe and invisible.

Claire suspects the sorority girls are trying to hurt them, but Gretchen insists it is just a game. Claire wonders if someone else with abilities is there. Claire says she figures that someone is trying to kill Gretchen since her first roommate died. After they investigate a noise, they see two other pledges who have a clue. Claire convinces them to work together in exchange for them to win the competition.

Back in Georgia, Jeremy walks out the station and sees a mob waiting for him. One man tries to confront Jeremy, but Jeremy puts his hand on him and kills him. The sheriff pulls out his gun and orders Jeremy back in the station. Noah says he can save him, but Jeremy ignores him and returns to the building. The sheriff says he knows Jeremy is responsible for the man's death. One of the deputies sneaks Jeremy out the back by gunpoint. The sheriff looks for Jeremy and calls his deputy to ask where he is. The deputy chains Jeremy to a truck that drags him.
