Bailey asks Webber if he is having an affair with Izzie. Webber laughs at the idea. She informs him that he might have clipped a patient's common bile duct. She says that she had Reed and Lexie prep the patient for operation and there should be no long term damage. Bailey says no one knows about his mistake. Bailey tell him she hopes he gets a handle on what is distracting him soon.

The team operates on Casey. Teddy explains she heard a holosystolic hole in the patient. She asks Cristina if she would like to assist.

Meredith tells Alex that Izzie is at the gallery if he wants to talk to her. Alex says he doesn't get Izzie. Meredith tells Alex since he married her, he has to figure her out.

Teddy restarts Casey's heart, but she doesn't respond. Teddy encourages Cristina after she decides to defibrillate. After Cristina shocks the patient back to life, Teddy instructs Cristina.

Alex goes to the gallery as Izzie watches Derek operate on Singer. Izzie tells Alex that she knows that he went behind her back and got her fired. Izzie says work was the only thing in her life and he took it away. Alex says that since she didn't talk to him and give him the benefit of the doubt, he can't forgive her.

After surgery, Bailey informs Webber that there is not going to be any long term problems with the patient. Webber says he is not having an affair. He says he is going to stop operating and would like her to take over his schedule.

Izzie visits Singer after the surgery. She tells him he can go back to teaching if he wants. He says he doesn't want to go back to those sex crazed teens and will do something else.

Cristina tells Meredith that she did a Takeuchi repair with Teddy. They wonder if Teddy is a cardio god. Bailey tells Callie that Webber is taking some time off from surgery because of the merger.

Teddy meets with Hunt after work and asks him about Cristina. Hunt says he didn't want her to favor Cristina. She asks when he broke up with Beth and he says a while back ago. Teddy says she thought he would call her and realizes their attraction was just in her head. Teddy says now she knows, she can let it go. Cristina meets with Hunt and thanks him for his present. Hunt says Teddy joined the army after her friend died during 9/11.

Meredith has drinks with Alex at the bar. She says she thinks Izzie will be back soon. Webber asks the bartender for another club soda. The bartender tells him he is going to need his keys, just before he pours him a vodka. Derek realizes that he is an alcoholic, which caused him to make rash decisions. Meredith looks at Webber's drink after he leaves.
