Derek examines Singer as he tells him the story about being a teacher. Derek informs Singer he is going to take some blood and run some tests. Izzie says the school let Singer go six months ago. Izzie wonders if Singer might have intercranial bleeding. Cristina and Charles see that Izzie has returned. Cristina tells Izzie not to miss another treatment. Alex sees Izzie, but walks away.

Cristina quizzes Teddy about her schooling and qualifications. Teddy is happy as it starts to rain. Hunt explains that Teddy has been living in a desert for a long time. While watching Teddy dance in the rain, Cristina says she is not a cardio god. After Cristina asks, Hunt says he is just friends with Teddy. Cristina tells Hunt to get a real cardio god. Avery figures Cristina has a boyfriend.

Charles tells Izzie that Singer's bloodwork is normal. Charles asks Izzie if she is hoping Webber will take her back. Singer starts to panic and flails around. After Izzie tries to help him, he stumbles and falls.

Bailey finds Webber sleeping and wakes him up. She informs him that his wife is there and he is in trouble.

Izzie tells Charles he owes her since he is the one who got her fired. While examining a patient who needs a temporary pacemaker, Teddy tells Cristina she hasn't worked on real people in a long time. Cristina excuses herself to talk to Webber.

Meredith tells Alex that Izzie has been staying in Chehalis, but he ignores her. Webber explains to Bailey that he has been working all night on the budget. Cristina tells Webber that the new cardio doctor doesn't even know how to put in a pacemaker. Bailey tells Cristina that since she asked for a new cardio specialist and got one, she should stop complaining.

After Bailey informs Webber he has to operate, Sloan and Callie ask her if they can operate on her patient who has pancreatic duct rupture. Bailey sees Adelle who asks her if she is having an affair with her husband. Bailey insists there is nothing going on between them. Adelle says she sees how they work together. Callie describes Bailey as Webber's work wife. She continues by calling Sloan her work husband even though he has a girlfriend. Adelle says Webber hasn't been home in a while and she suspects someone in the hospital is having an affair with him.

Teddy asks Cristina to talk her through procedure and sees that Cristina has everything handled.

Bailey tells Webber that she knows he is under pressure. She says that he knows he has needs. After Webber asks her if she is hitting on him, Bailey admits that Adelle suspects he is having an affair.

Izzie waits with Singer as Charles obtains a spinal sample. Charles tells Izzie that everyone in the hospital talks about her and Alex. Singer asks Izzie if Alex proposed to her yet. Since he believes Izzie is still in high school, he suggests she doesn't get married since it will ruin her chances for a career.

Derek comforts Meredith as she operates on a patient. Meredith says she likes to bring herself back to the five seconds when George was still alive and Izzie pulled through. Derek asks Meredith to close her eyes as he gives her five kisses.

Charles shows Izzie that Singer's spinal tap shows he is normal. Singer sees Izzie and tells her she looks grown up. Charles figures Singer is now lucid.

Reed and Lexie ask Bailey about seeing the chief and she mistakes them as admitting they are having an affair with him. Lexie says Webber's patient has yellow skin. They wonder if the patient has obstructive jaundice. They figure Webber cut the patient's common bile duct accidentally.
