Cristina goes into Meredith's room and starts to cry. She tosses a box of tissues to her. Cristina says nothing is happening. She complains that it has been a long time since she held a heart in a hand. She says she misses Burke since with him in charge she got to operate more and had the opportunity to learn. Cristina says she wants to give up. Meredith calls her over to her bed to give her a hug. She turns on and old movie for them to watch.

Keptner and Lexie help Derek prep. Lexie repeats the sayings that she found in the notebook to Keptner. Keptner feels embarrassed and leaves.

Charles treats Sarah who starts to crash. Izzie arrives and accuses him of losing the patient. Charles says he didn't treat her. Izzie uses the defibrillator.

Arizona meets with Carlos. She explains she was named after the battleship. She says she was raised to love her country. She says after her father learned she was a lesbian, he asked her if she is still the same daughter he raised. She says her dad loves his country like Carlos loves his religion. She says she loves his daughter who is the same girl he raised.

Bailey meets with Izzie and Charles. She tells Izzie her condition has clouded her judgment. She informs her that she ordered the wrong treatment for Sarah. Since she crashed, Sarah lost the chance to get a new kidney. Bailey explains that if she doesn't get one in three days, Sarah will die, and it will be Izzie's fault.

After surgery, Derek informs the thief patient that he will only be able to move at 70% of how he used to. Lexie tells Billy that the sayings are what comforts her and they stole it from her.

Bailey apologizes to Sarah. Her sister calls and asks Bailey what she should tell her. Izzie, who is listening outside the room, gets a page.

Lexie apologizes to Keptner. She admits she doesn't like her, but says what she did was over the line.

Webber calls Izzie into his office. After he introduces her to the HR manager, she realizes she is going to get fired. Webber describes how the other doctors are concerned about her stability. He says even Alex is worried. Webber reads the firing speech. Izzie cries and begs not to be let go.

Later, Carlos meets Callie outside of the hospital. He tells her she is always on a bridge ready to leap. He says he will be there to catch her. He asks her to have a wedding if she decides to marry Arizona. She says she wouldn't mind wearing a dress. Carlos asks if Arizona makes her happy. She says she does, then gives him a hug. Carlos asks if Arizona is a vegetarian and explains he couldn't handle that.

As Alex changes out of his clothes he finds a letter from Izzie. Meredith asks Alex for a full report. He tells them Izzie left him and he is not sure if she is coming back. Meredith orders Cristina to hug Alex. She gets up, but Alex backs off.
