At the hospital, Ben tells Bailey she looks nice, but she tells him to go away. Arizona comforts Callie as she gets sick thinking about her speech that she is being forced to give.

Webber attends a group meeting and says his drinking hurt people. He says he is grateful that he is now sober. Webber meets with Derek and is offered a job as a surgeon underneath him, but he refuses. Derek tells him he would like him to help with lecture day.

Later in the auditorium, Derek calls the doctors in for his meeting. He explains that the hospital is for teaching. Bailey takes the stage and gets Cristina's attention by throwing candy at her face.

Bailey remembers when she was an intern who followed Webber as he went through the rounds. Baylow, the resident doctor, became upset at Bailey's ability to answer Webber's questions and ordered her to draw blood.

In the present time, the staff notices that Callie is nervous as she gives her presentation. She remembers when Alex introduced himself as the guy who saved a patient's heart in the elevator. Callie brought Alex to take care of a patient named Sunder who had deformed legs.

Webber takes the stage and tells them about a story how they learned from each other. He remembers when he watched Ellis Grey apply the paddles on a patient and saved him in 1982. Webber tells the staff that like how he learned from Grey, they will learn from each other.

Webber tells the staff that Ellis was a groundbreaker. He says back in 1982, she was referred to as 'sugar' or 'nurse' even though she was an exceptional doctor.

Callie continues to struggle with her presentation. Arizona encouraged her to just talk and tell them about their case. Callie remembers when she told Webber that she promised her patient who had clubfoot that he can walk. Webber thought she was arrogant since she grew up privileged. He told her to try it her way, but warns her the case will make or break her career.

Webber remembers when he tore off Ellis's clothes in a spare room, but left after he had a revelation about their patient.

Lexie correctly answers Bailey's question that the patient's history is one of the most important pieces of information. Bailey remembers when she was an intern and reported that a patient reduced her acid reflux by becoming a vegan. After Webber complimented her Baylow became angry.

Webber remembers when he and Ellis suspected had GRID, which was another name for AIDS in 1982. He remembers the patient became upset that he was accused of having a gay disease. The patient threatened to report them to their superiors.

Webber tells the staff that AIDS was discovered in 1983. Cristina raises her hand and says the test wasn't developed until 1985. Gracie, the attending doctor told Webber and Ellis that they are on probation since the patient is threatening to sue for slander.

Callie remembers when her patient started to crash while operating. Alex told her they have to prioritize on Sunder's breathing.

Bailey remembers when Webber gave her first solo surgery after she diagnosed a patient named Alicia who had unrelenting abdominal pain with appendicitis. She remembers when Webber told her that she is quiet. After they opened up the patient, Webber noticed that the appendix was healthy. Baylow, who was watching above, smiled after she realized that Bailey misdiagnosed the patient.

Callie remembers when he told Sunder that she failed and can't operate any further. Sunder told Callie that he is happy that he was now finally able to move his toes. He told her that he wants to walk and asked her to keep on trying.
