Chuck stops Serena and tells her that Blair is lashing out because she misses her. Chuck tells Serena that she needs to be careful not to permanently destroy their friendship.

Olivia meets with Dan and apologizes for the interview. She says it was the only time she actually got to be herself and she bombed. Dan tells Olivia that she did great and the interview was funny. He then tells her the real story behind why his shirt was on inside out after going to the bathroom. He says there wasn't a spider, he was just sweating and using the hand drier to dry his shirt.

Nate and Trip watch the election results. Trip thanks Nate for standing up and taking responsibility. They then watch as Trip wins the election. Nate tells Trip he is the only honest man in their family and asks him to do a great job. Trip assures Nate that he is going to create a new Vanderbilt dynasty, one they can be proud of.

Serena helps Blair clean the cake off her face. Serena apologizes, but Blair tells her she is completely self involved. Blair says things are different for them now and Serena is no longer number one. Blair tells Serena she is losing her oldest friends, including her.

Blair apologizes to Brandise for Serena calling her a prostitute. Brandise admits she is a call girl and does it to pay for college. Blair suggests that maybe they can still shop together. Brandise says she has a job and Blair realizes she used her to gain access to the party.

Serena tries to get Patrick into the limo. He tells her she has to go with him since she is being paid to be his girlfriend. Serena writes a message on Patrick's shirt to KC that she quits and send Patrick on his way.

Trip's wife goes up to Trip's grandfather and says things worked out better than planned. He realizes she was the one who set up the rescue. She says not only is Trip a congressman, but thanks to Vanessa's footage, Trip's grandfather will finally be out of their lives.

Chuck finds Blair in his bed. She tells him she and Brandise aren't friends anymore. She says all she needs is Chuck. Meanwhile, Serena runs into Trip in the bar. He tells her he would love to talk to someone about something other than politics. He asks her to tell her what's wrong.
