Rufus tells Dan and Vanessa he is enjoying married life. Jenny reads a flattering story about Vanessa in the paper. She says she is up for consideration to give a toast at the college. Vanessa tells Rufus not to congratulate her since since it isn't final. Dan says Olivia is getting back into town and Rufus tells him to bring her to the celebration. Vanessa and Jenny convince Dan that he should introduce Olivia to the family.

Nate tells Serena about his plan to use Bree's cousin PJ's gambling addiction against him. Nate tells her that she will play against PJ, but Serena says she can't. Nate tells her she can do it for Carter.

Blair runs into Vanessa in the hallway and argue over who will be delivering the toast at the freshman dinner. Vanessa goes into her room and leaves a message to tell her parents she is giving a speech at the freshman dinner. Meanwhile Blair plots on how to be the one to deliver the toast.

Dan is amazed by a watch that Olivia brought back for him as a gift. He invites her to the parent student freshman dinner and meet his parents. She tells him she would love to meet them. Dan goes off to get some coffee and Olivia calls Mr. Ellis to asks if she can be the one to give the toast. He tells her that he would love for her to be the one to give the toast.

Blair meets with Mr. Ellis and tells him that Vanessa will deliver a terrible toast that won't illicit contributions. He tells her that Olivia will be the one to give the toast. Blair is annoyed to learn the choice was between Vanessa and Olivia. He tells her that even if Olivia drops out, he would go with Vanessa over her. Vanessa sees Blair walking out of Mr. Ellis's office. She breaks the news to Vanessa that Olivia will be giving the toast. Vanessa tells Blair she will try to talk Olivia out of giving the speech and Blair tells her good luck.
