Melinda goes to Carl and asks about Aiden's friends. Melinda asks if Ruby is haunting Jim. He asks to see a picture of Ruby, then says she doesn't look familiar. Melinda asks if the shiny people are real. Carl points out that she always asks people to believe in things they can't see. He says he can't give her a straight answer because it is too dangerous. He adds that the answers are all there and she knows where to look. Melinda asks if he is talking about the book. Carl suggests that the book hides things to protect itself and she may want to consider doing the same thing.

Eli meets with Professor Bedford and asks why he was passed over for tenure. Eli points out his credentials, then shows him another job offer he received. Bedford tells Eli to take the job, but Eli says he can't leave. Eli asks what he has against him. Bedford tells Eli he just doesn't like him.

Eli meets with Jim and Melinda in the hospital locker room. They assure Eli he is likable. Jim says it was weird that Dr. Morgan shrugged off the even and walked away. Melinda looks at Dr. Morgan's locker and sees an image of him making out with a woman. Melinda turns around and sees the woman. She tells Melinda Dr. Morgan used her and threw her away.

Eli, Melinda and Jim go out for dinner. Jim realizes the woman was a med student since she was wearing yellow scrubs. Eli researches recent student deaths, but Melinda finds the girl in the missing persons pages. Melinda finds her name is Tina Clark. Jim recognizes her from his class. He says Tina was Morgan's TA. Jim says they should give Morgan a chance to explain himself.
