The next morning, Caroline tells Melinda about what happened at the school. She asks how a candle could have lit itself. She asks Melinda why she brought up Sean. Melinda tells her she sees ghosts. Caroline asks if Aiden knows and Melinda says yes. Caroline tells Melinda she and Sean were going to run away together to get married the night he fell off the horse. She says her father didn't approve of him. She says they picked Halloween to elope because they knew her parents would be busy with the party, but she couldn't understand why Sean never showed up. She says she overheard her parents confront him about the theft. She explains that he then ran away on a horse, fell and broke his neck, then the jewelry was found in his car the next morning. Melinda asks if she ever talked to him after the accident. Caroline says he was in the hospital for a few weeks, but she never saw him. Caroline asks what Sean wants. Melinda says Sean told her he wasn't sure how it got there and suggests the jewelry was planted. Caroline says her sister saw him take the jewelry.

Melinda talks to Dahlia about the situation. Dahlia wonders if Sean is mad at the family for not thinking he was good enough. Melinda realizes that everyone was wearing costumes that night. She wonders if Dana may have just been confused. Melinda then has a vision of Caroline and Sean talking about getting married. She realizes her vision was similar to how it would look through a mask. She sees a picture of Dana wearing a mask and wonders if Dana had a crush on Sean, then set him up to destroy his and Caroline's relationship.

Dana rides her horse, but is thrown off as Sean appears on his ghost horse. Melinda goes to the hospital and Jim tells her that Dana is going to be okay. Caroline tells Melinda she told Dana she can see ghosts. Melinida asks Dana about her feelings about Sean. She says he was her first love. She says she followed him at the party and knew it was him who stole the jewelry. She says she recognized the bandage she put on him the other day. Dana tells Melinda that she didn't know Caroline and Sean were going to elope. She says she was wearing Joel's mask in the picture, but he had been wearing it all night before her.
