Eli tells Melinda she is probably just channeling the father's fears. Melinda wonders how she is going to reach a delusional ghost. Eli tells Melinda about the story of Ichibad Crane and how he hung around for a woman. Melinda wonders if they should be looking for the rider of the horse and not Caroline's father.

Melinda has a severe headache. She turns around to see a cloaked person tell her he doesn't know how it got there. Melinda feels the back of her head and finds a rod embedded in her neck as the ghost disappears.

Melinda tells Jim about the ghost. Jim tells her that sometimes a head can be severed from a body and reattached with a rod. Jim then goes to check on Aiden who is changing his costume for his friends. Jim asks him about his friends and if they are there now.

Melinda talks to Dahlia about how Jim saw Aiden taking orders from his friends. Dahlia tells Melinda not to worry. Melinda looks for people who were decapitated while horse riding. She finds a young man named Sean who died after being thrown from a horse.

Melinda goes to the school and asks Caroline about Sean's accident. She says she knew him really well. Sean then appears while Caroline tells Melinda that Sean stole from them. She says he was running away when he fell off the horse. Joel walks up and takes Caroline out to lunch. Sean then disappears.

Caroline decorates the classroom. She notices that he cutouts are being moved. She calls out, but no one responds. A horse walks by the window and Caroline goes outside. The light burns out and she searches for her keys in the dark. She notices a candle suddenly light up inside a jack o lantern. She reaches inside and pulls out some jewelry. The pumpkin then falls and smashes on the ground.
