A woman enters a hotel elevator and runs out after a group of party goers enter. She tries to casually exit the lobby while holding her shoes. After she leaves the building, she is attacked by a man with a knife. The security team notices the attack and calls the police.

Brass arrives at the scene and finds the woman dead. He calls Ray and asks where he is. Ray goes around town and asks people if they have seen Madeline. He meets with a prostitute who asks him for cash. Nick arrives and tells him to turn on his phone. Ray explains he is still looking for Madeline. He says the trail went cold in New York, but a security cam captured her a week ago. He say he told her mother he would do everything to find her daughter. Nick volunteers to help him while they are off duty.

Nick and Ray arrive at the scene. Brass reports that the woman didn't have any ID but had a bag full of condoms and baby wipes. Nick says it is a standard hooker toolkit. They figure that the woman didn't work yet. They see a clean cut on the woman's neck. Ray figures the weapon was a straight razor. David arrives and says the woman is Dede Chase, a weather girl from Barstow. They wonder why she would turn tricks in Las Vegas. Nick says these days it seems like everyone has a second job.

Dede's body is brought back to the lab. They see that she was heavily bruised and sexually abused. Katherine notices a fresh tattoo. They play the video of Dede giving the forecast and mess up while giving out her name. Greg says he doesn't think Dede was a hooker. They notice blood on the earring and wonder if it belonged to the killer. Nick and Ray examine the surveillance camera and don't find the face of the killer. They see Dede meet with a man, go upstairs, then return to the lobby using the stairs on the other side of the hotel. Hodges reports that Dede received several calls from a man named Brett McDowell. He says Brett is in town.

Brass meets with Brett and asks him what his relationship was with Dede. He explains he was her producer. Brass plays him a voicemail of Brett ordering Dede to leave him alone. Brett admits he was having an affair. He says he last saw her three nights ago out in the streets. She told Brett to go to hell, so he left her. He explains that he returned because he was worried. Brass asks for Brett's DNA and a list of places he went. Brass says Dede got a tattoo which surprises Brett. He says Dede thought tattoos made women look cheap.

Ray learns the blood found on Dede's earring belongs to Madeline. The team reviews the case. Ray explains how Madeline was moved from Miami to New York and forced into prostitution. They wonder if Dede and Madeline had the same pimp. Ray says since today is the fifteenth, they can find a group of pimps.

Brass, Ray, and Katherine go to a convention called Playercon. Ray notices several girls with tattoos similar to Dede. Nick says that none of the attendees want to talk. Nick sees a girl dancing on a stage and goes to talk to her. He asks her if she is holding a controlled substance. After he tests the money the girl received and finds it tests positive for cocaine, Nick arrests her.
