This was a brilliant episode with surprising plot developments in the team. If there were to be any leader to take over for Hotch, I would think it would be JJ. Maybe he didn't want her to be the leader since he realized that she has a family life with the new baby. The episode referred to the extra work load in the beginning. David would have been another candidate, but I guess he is more of an analyst than a tactician. Derek seems like he would be a little too reckless. His human nature allowed him to comfort the woman from the last case involving the home invading murderers. What I wonder is if Hotch will make a good subordinate and trust Derek's lead. What ever happens, I think there is going to be a lot of drama with Foyet still loose, Hotch's family in exile, and this new dynamic. This is one of the shows that I look forward to see playing out throughout the season and it has multiple directions where it can go.
