Castle and Beckett meet with Hayley's producers Bree and Ian. They explain they took Hayley in because she wanted out of a life of drugs. They tell the team it is too bad that Hayley was killed by an obsessed fan, but Beckett informs them they haven't charged Marquez yet. The couple says after Hayley scavenged her room for jewelery for cash, they figured she relapsed. They inform the team that Hayley has a drug using sister named Sky.

Beckett gets a call from the other detectives and learn that Franco packed up and jumped on a bus. The police pull over the bus. Beckett boards the vehicle and asks the passengers to put up their hands. Beckett locates Franco then arrests him.

The police bring Franco to the station. He says he would never kill Hayley because she was his soulmate. He explains he ran because he knew they would suspect him. He asks him where he was and he says he was listening to Hayley's final concert that was posted online. He plays them a song where Hayley sings 'death, she grows near' and tells them he figures Hayley knew she was going to die last night.. Franco says he saw Hayley fighting with Zack, the guitarist from her former band. Esposito tells Castle and Beckett that Zack has a record of domestic violence. Castle says Zack doesn't look like a killer and asks Beckett if he looks like one. She says he kills her patience. Ryan reports that Hayley went to a police station to ask for help, but later disappeared.

Castle and Beckett meet with Zack and ask him where he was when Hayley died. He says he was performing at a sixteen year old's birthday party. Zack says after Hayley went solo and found out they were holding auditions to replace her, she sent them a cease and desist letter. Zack is upset they can't continue to use their original name, the Blue Pills. Beckett gets a call and learns Sky is coming downtown to identify Hayley's body. At the station, they find Sky drunk while she is yelling at her dead sister's body. Sky confesses she thinks she might have killed Hayley.
