Morlock is brought to the station. Lanie says Morlock isn't a vampire but has Porphyria which causes extreme photosensitivity. She says his condition also explains his mental state. Beckett asks Morlock if he knows Crow, which causes him to mumble something about spots and burying someone. Beckett says they found smudges on the stake that was used to kill Matthew. Later, Beckett learns that there was india ink found on the stake. Castle explains that india ink is used by comic book artists for lettering. Then figure Daemon was the person who lettered the graphic novel.

Castle returns home to carve pumpkins with Alexis. They ask Martha if she wants to join them, but she says she is off to a masquerade ball. Alexis asks Castle if she can go to a senior party with Paige and he agrees. He says if anything uncomfortable happens, give him a call. Alexis asks him to watch Feggin while she is gone. She explains her teacher won't allow the eggs be alone.

Beckett talks to a psychologist Doctor Holloway about Morgan. He explains they have to separate Morgan's fantasy and reality in order to get information from him. After Holloway examines Matthew's drawings, he says it appears like the story is more about the woman since she is depicted as an angel.

Castle brings the egg to the station and explains he is watching it for Alexis. He says he is egg-sitting while Alexis and Paige go to a senior party. Esposito call Beckett and inform her that they found Daemon shot dead and his apartment ransacked. He reports that Daemon is a werewolf.

Later, Lanie says Daemon is wearing a costume. Esposito discover that Daemon's real name is Jonas Westfall and that he is a grad student studying forensic science. Lanie says Jonas was killed just before Matthew was killed. They see that Jonas was going to a party before he died. Castle discovers a broken bottle of india ink and figures the same person killed Jonas and Matthew. Beckett finds a box full of stakes. Castle wonders if Morlock killed him, but Lanie says Jonas died during the day time which eliminates him as a suspect. Lanie sees an envelope taped under the table and figure he was hiding it.

In the envelope, Castle finds a report about a woman who was buried and had her face reconstructed by Jonas. They realize the woman is the same person that Matthew drew as the angel. They see that the sketches of the woman was drawn two years before her body was discovered. They figure Matthew knew the woman before she died. Castle gets a call from Alexis. She says that Paige might have drank too much. Castle goes to the party, picks up Paige and takes her home. Paige says she doesn't want them to call her parents or they will murder her. Castle insists they call.

Beckett shows the family the drawing of the woman that Matthew drew. They tell her Matthew drew the woman for years and called her his own personal ghost. Matthew's sister says the woman appeared in Matthew's nightmares. They ask them if they know if Matthew experienced anything traumatic, but they don't know. After Beckett asks for his earlier drawings, the sister tells Beckett to look at the work that Matthew submitted in his school application.

Esposito tells Beckett that Jonas also called the police about the woman from the drawings. He says the bullet that killed Daemon matches the bullet that killed the woman. Esposito says they haven't identified the woman yet. Beckett says that it is strange that Matthew would remember anything since he was only two when the woman died. Ryan returns with Matthew's portfolio. He shows her a drawing of two trees which is the same place where the woman's body was found. Beckett figures Matthew remembered the murder when he was two. Beckett asks the detectives to run a background check on the family. They come back and learn that Matthew's dad, Alan, was married to a woman named Elizabeth Dryden who disappeared from New Jersey then married his current wife Janice, who was Matthew's nanny. Beckett figures that Alan lied to them when he said he didn't recognize the woman from Matthew's picture, who is Matthew's mom. Castle remembers seeing Elizabeth Dryden's grave at the graveyard.
