In the morning, Castle's book agent Paula rings his buzzer. She announces they have an opportunity to restart a book series starring a British superspy. Castle admits that he was his inspiration for writing. He gets a call from Beckett.

At the scene, the detectives find a woman in a sewer drain. The medical examiner Perlmutter reports the woman was killed by blunt force trauma to the head two days ago. Beckett figures it wasn't just a robbery since the killer dragged the body into the drain. Castle arrives at the scene just as the body is being driven away. Since he wasn't there, the detectives make up causes of death including she was eaten by a monster and that she was shot by a death ray.

At the station, Perlmutter tells Castle and Beckett he didn't find any identification on the body. He suspects the woman was from the Eastern Bloc since she had metal fillings. He gives them a candy wrapper he found in her pocket. Castle looks at the wrapper and sees it has Czech writing on it. He explains to Beckett he almost ordered a bride online, a Czech Mate. Castle invites Perlmutter to go to a football party at his house, but he declines.

Later, Beckett tells Roy she went store to store with Castle to look for the candy wrapper. Roy says her she might be in another book. He explains since the Mayor likes him and is letting him stay with the squad. Esposito and Ryan find the candy lollipop and bring it back to the station. They tell Beckett that the store owner recognized the woman and directed them to an apartment building.
