Booth visits his old psychiatrist Gordon Gordon who is now working as a chef at a restaurant. He asks him for advice, but he says he stopped being a psychiatrist a while ago. Gordon figures he is there because of his brain tumor. Gordon gives him a dish and orders him to eat until he goes on his break.

Back at the lab, Nigel finds that the victim was hit in his head, but Bones figures it is not the cause of death. Bones figures that the victim was strong and was a wrestler. Nigel says midget wrestling is an American pastime.

Angela and Bones examines videos of midget wrestlers. Bones figures the victim matches the body type of a wrestler named the Iron Leprechaun. They see the Iron Leprechaun is wrestling that night, which means he is not the victim.

Hodgins says that he found various gold currency next to the body. He reports he also found an rusted and unfired Luger at the scene.

Back at the restaurant, Booth tells Gordon he is a very good cook. He shows Gordon his target and says he is a lousy shot. He asks for help in firing his gun. Gordon wonders if he has a sexual problem. Gordon says he wants to tag along with him in order to help him.

Bones, Gordon and Booth go to a midget wrestling event. They see the Iron Leprechaun in the ring with a bumble bee costumed wrestler. Bones says the Iron Leprechaun is not the original one. After Bones starts to boo the wrestler for being a fraud, the Iron Leprechaun loses his match. Booth introduces himself, tries to get the Iron Leprechaun out of the ring, but he starts to wrestle him. The crowd boos after Booth knocks out the wrestler.

The team brings the Iron Leprechaun to the station. Sweets figures Booth went to Gordon after he spoke to him. They interview the wrestler who says his name is Todd Moore. Todd explains that he took over the last Iron Leprechaun after Bryce, the original Leprechaun, left three months ago. The team informs him Bryce is dead and ask him why he ran from Booth. Todd explains his work visa ran out a while ago. He says the wrestling commissioner Gidget received cash from Bryce. He informs them that Bryce had a relationship with Gidget that ended harshly.

Booth and Bones meet with Gidget. She says that her relationship with Bryce got old and he wanted to sue her. She believes that Bryce, like all men, had something go wrong with his heart that affected the rest of his life. They ask if Bryce owned a gun and she says he didn't, but she lost hers around the time he disappeared.

Sweets and Gordon have breakfast at the cafe. Sweets asks Gordon if he gave up on the psychiatrist profession. He thinks that he gave up and went to the kitchen. Gordon says he thinks Booth knows he works for the FBI first and doesn't want to compromise his professional obligations. They plan on working together to help Booth shoot straight again.
