A man with a briefcase handcuffed to his hand smokes a cigarette in a parking lot. A man with a silenced pistol approaches him. The briefcase man senses someone close, pulls out a knife, but is shot before he can defend himself. The gunman uses the knife to cut off the man's hand. He takes the briefcase and gets into his car. As he drives away, someone shoots at him causing him to swerve, run over the dead man's legs and graze a guard rail.

Bones and Booth arrive at the parking lot. Bones says her publishing company gave her a Rolex because her book was a best seller for several weeks. She says she has enough funds where she doesn't have to work anymore if she doesn't want to. They reach the body and push away the cats that are feasting on his flesh. Bones sees that the man was shot and ran over two days ago. The parking attendant tells Booth the lot is used for long term parking. Booth asks why the cats are looking at them weird as they lick their lips and stare at them.

The team brings the body to the Jeffersonian. Cam and Wendall find steel wool near the gunshot wounds and figure the man was shot by a silenced weapon. They see that the man used a Russian body lengthening device and figure that he is from that country. They determine that someone tried to remove something on his wrist since it shows signs of injury before it was cut off. Hodgins arrives with a tray full of cat feces and asks Wendall if he wants to have lunch. Cam asks Hodgins if he thinks it is strange he thinks about food while carrying the tray. He says that he read a book that says everybody poops. Hodgins says he found plastic from a bag of peanuts from a Russian airline in the feces.

Booth learns that the victim, Antanov, was a courier for an Ukraine diamond company. Harold Prescott from the State Department tells Booth he has to make sure Booth can be trusted with confidential information. He gives him a file and tells him Antanov went missing after he arrived at Dulles three days ago. He says Antanov bypassed being searched when he went through the diplomatic line. Harold informs Booth that the State Department didn't authorize Antanov with diplomatic status. It is not not clear if diamonds were in the briefcase Antanov had, which makes the incident a threat to national security.

Booth meets with Lena, a representative from the diamond company. She says didn't know Antanov had diplomatic status. Lena tells Booth her company does background checks on their employees.

Angela examines the victim's legs and says that they can determine which car ran him over by weight. Hodgins says the paint found on the guard rail is called Casino Royale. Cam walks in and tells Angela and Hodgins that Wendall lost his scholarship because his sponsor ran out of money. She says they will have to cut him from the institute if they can't find any other source of funding. The group tries to hide what they know as Wendall walks in the room. A database search is complete and they see that the car that ran over the victim is the same as James Bond's car.

Booth, Bones and Sweets have lunch. Sweets says he looked over Antanov's company profile and finds that it is too perfect. They figure that Antanov was a spy. Sweets learns that Booth is trying to fix his own plumbing problems at his house. Bones offers to pay for a plumber, but he refuses. Sweets tells Bones she should let Booth fix his pipes himself while she watches and tries to learn.

The killer's car is found by a patrol woman in an alley. Booth and Bones investigate and find scratches and a broken window. Bones sees blood dripping from the trunk. Booth uses a crowbar, opens the trunk and finds a badly decomposed dead man with his face peeling off due to the heat. Booth says that the dead man is going to kill the Bluebook value. Bones says the man has been dead for three to four days. They find a Walter PPK, the same gun used by James Bond, and a CIA badge.
